Education/Experience: Successful completion of a nurse assistant training program; knowledge of general nursing assistant functions and familiarity with organization, functions, policies, regulations and procedures of the medical center as they relate to nursing services
Certificates and Licenses: Current nursing assistant certification in the State of Kansas; BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification with in the first two weeks of employment; and additional certification may be required for certain patient care settings or populations.
Schedule Availability: Ability to work Monday through Friday and possibly Saturday in specific clinics; may float to other clinics.

1.) Performs the collection of relevant information such as patient identification and demographics, HIPAA forms, insurance information, document indicated signs and symptoms, and consent for treatment.
2.) Documents and communicates performed duties including but not limited to required vital signs, patient response to intervention/therapy and test results.
3.) Completes delegated individualized patient plan of care activities and communicates with other members of the healthcare team that promotes positive immediate and long-term outcomes for the patient/family and reflects the plan of the entire health care team including but not limited to: lab tests, EKG, pulse oximetry and peak flows.
4.) Uses interpersonal communication with peers and other members of the healthcare team to ensure positive patient outcomes and a sense of satisfaction by those involved.
5.) Provides patient education and explains procedures and gives instructions at a level the patient can understand; addresses patient’s non-medical questions and concerns; refers questions about outcomes, diagnosis, treatment or prognosis to clinical staff and/or provider. Provides appropriate information to individuals involved in the patient’s care.
6.) Completes and documents quality control checks as scheduled and reports variances.
